Tulips

I have a slight obsession with tulips...you may catch me walking or driving around town staring at them. I love when there are multicolored tulips in one flower bed! So cute! My first tulip bloomed on Easter Sunday this year! Happy Spring!

Recap

We had a great weekend! We went on a long walk on Saturday morning around Republic and ended up at McAlister's for lunch out on the patio. Then I did some major baking- another carrot cake, cupcakes and 7-layer cookies. Yum! Then on Sunday we grilled out for Easter. Nate smoked four chickens! And we had  small Easter egg hunt for our nephews.

Happy Easter

We have a busy Easter weekend ahead with friends and family and good weather! We are going over to a friend's house for a BBQ on Saturday night. And then on Sunday we are having Nate's family over for grilled chicken, green bean bundles and carrot cake! Yum! Hope you have a great weekend!

Game Day

We are getting together with some friends on Sunday for the "Big Game" and when I say "Big Game" I really mean it. Nate's favorite team is the Colts and we have been following them all season! I think the occassion calls for something special....check out these adorable football truffles that are featured on Bakerella and wish me luck as I attempt to recreate them.

Winter Mix

What's not to love about  old wooden sleds, ice skates thrown on the porch and and snowflakes hanging from above?!

Holiday Fun

The "Book Club" girls got together for some Holiday fun at Kerri's Annual Christmas brunch over the weekend and then went on a Christmas Home Tour put together by the Republic Historical Society. It was a fabulous day filled with friends and Holiday Cheer! Pictured Left to Right: Nicole, Jennifer, Jen, me, Sarah, and Anne.

Give & Live Abundantly

The more you give, the more you get,
The more you laugh, the less you fret,
The more you do unselfishly,
The more you live abundantly.
The more of everything you share,
The more you'll always have to spare,
The more you love, the more you'll find
That life is good and friends are kind.
For only what we give away,
Enriches us from day to day.
So let's live Christmas through the year
And fill the world with love and cheer.

My mom submitted this to The Church Bell and I thought it was a sweet reminder to spread good cheer all year!

A Beach Wedding

Nate and I traveled to Clearwater Beach, FL for a friends wedding. We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the warm weather. Here are a few pics of a beauitful beach wedding!

Nate and I had a fun trip! On the first evening of our trip we went to Bern's Steakhouse to celebrate my birthday. It was the finest dining we have ever done! We ate a delicious dinner and then toured the kitchen and wine cellar. Finally making our way upstairs to the dessert room for creme brulee. It was a great birthday celebration!

The wedding festivities began and we enjoyed great food (alot of seafood), good drinks and alot of fun with friends. Congrats Ashlee and Jason!

Hmm...

I will try this "blogging" concept again. I have never been one to journal much, but always wish I would do it. There is so much that happens in our life and to reflect on those happenings can make the memory concrete.

Five of us (Anne, Jen, Michelle, Jennifer and myself) have started a book club and have already finished our first selection. We read "The Shack" by William P. Young. Very emotional, thought provoking, and an intimate exploration of having a relationship with God. We had great conversations about the book, shared recipes, and discussed our very interesting and different work environments!

We have moved on to our next selection, "Bravehearts: Unlocking the Courage to Love by Abandon" by Sharon A. Hersch. Just after reading the back cover I am intrigued! I am sure the five of us will tear this book apart!

Blogging!

I am blogging! I didn't think I could do this- but so far so good! I had to find something to entertain myself while I was waiting for my computer to upload 444 wedding photos to snapfish...then when I was almost done I figured out how to upload faster! But now I have photos on snapfish and a new blog...
